Teen Ka Tadka
"Aww, Sankalp, why are you so sad?" Varangi Ma'am asks.
“We didn’t do well,” I vehemently declare.
“Come on, at least it was better than last time.” She gave me an encouraging smile.
I still pout.
She sighs. “Look, as performers, we have to learn from the bad acts and stage better ones. Isn’t this what you did when you were sent home for revision last time?”

I stay silent. Don’t want to talk about it.
“Well, okay, I’ll try something else. I used to have a student who gave me better pep talks than I did...” She shakes her head. “Anyways, I have a surprise for you!”
“What is it?” I ask. I may be too old to be excited about such things, but I’ll take anything to cover up the bad thoughts.
“Hold on, I have to call someone up.” She pulls out her phone and hits a contact. The ringer’s working, so she puts it to her ear.
“Hello? Hi! You there? Where are you right now?” Pause. “Oh, okay, pretty close by.” She giggled. I never heard her do so. Must be something big.
There was another pause. “Uh, well...I didn’t tell him. He’s anyways upset, and I don’t know why, we did pretty okay yesterday. So, yeah, you know, I called to see where you were. If he saw who it was, he’d be livid. Even more than last time he and his friends snuck a peek at me during the final auditions.”
I blush. Varangi Ma’am did see us sneak in. It was the first time I saw her in real life.
“And...wait, I can hear you getting closer. Okay. Cutting the call. I think you’re outside the door. See you!”
The call’s cut, as Ma’am said. Then, she goes to the door and throws it open. And I see someone I never thought I’d see before!
“Tiger Pop!” I scream.
The twenty-year-old man laughs and sets his luggage outside the room. He rushes to give Varangi Ma’am a hug, then turns to me.
“So this is the little man you’ve been training?” He says, smiling. I grin big-time. Tiger Pop called me his little man!
“This is the best surprise ever!” I say, hugging him. Then, I hug Varangi Ma’am too. “Thank you,” I whisper.
She pats my head. Releasing, I turn to Tiger Sir. “Are you also choreographing?”
He laughs. “Nah, I haven’t gotten the skills Didi has. But I have come here for something else entirely. I even met some old friends on the way.” He gestured to Ma’am. “I think you should explain.”
Varangi Ma’am nods. “Sankalp, Tiger didn’t come here for any mere reason. Neither did any of the other exes.”
“Exes?” I repeat, making sure I heard that right.
“Ex-contestants,” Tiger confirms. “‘India’s Best Dancer’ season one and ‘Super Dancer’ contestants from the previous three seasons.”
“Wait, what? Is this a mega reunion?” I’m utterly confused.
“More than that,” Varangi Ma’am continues, “there are going to be trio performances with them. ‘Teen Ka Tadka’.”
“So, we’re dancing with Tiger Pop?” I raise my eyebrows.
She nods.
“Who’s the guest judge?” I ask excitedly. I make a mental note about a possible ASP Group performance.
“Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia,” Varangi Ma’am and Tiger Sir answer in unison. Apparently, they planned this.
“Huh?” I don’t know who that is.
“You might better know him by his stage name,” Tiger Sir says.
“And that is…”
“Badshah.”
